ABOUT US
Merrill College CCF is not a private school we are a public school. Its CCF is only on once a week so we dont have much practice at our Drill or weapons but our determined staff do their best to ensure we have fun and learn.
Merrill College CCF is part of the MERCIAN regiment and is a proud part of the Community. We aim to help all cadets learn and at the same time have as much fun as possible. If you would like to learn about some of the Equipment we use look lower on this page everything will either be on this page or the home page.
Our Equipment
L98A2 Cadet GP Rifle
The L98A2 is the main rifle we use at merrill college CCF. It is a semi-automatic Assault Rifle used by the british army in Afghanistan in the present time. This is also the main rifle they use in other cadet forces including the RAF
L86 LSW
This is the L86 LSW, the LSW stands for Light Support Weapon. It is a Weapon that can be used as a semi-automatic or fully-automatic rifle at the flick of a switch. The parts in the LSW is interchangeable with the L98A2 Cadet GP rifle wich means that we can switch the parts from either of the rifles and put it in the other one.

The Number 8 Rifle
The number 8 rifle AKA. the .22 rifle is a bolt action rifle that is used by us for small shooting trips to a range. It is by far the easiest rifle of ours to use,clean and pass the weapon handling test on. To take it apart all you need to do is to take out the cocking handle for cleaning and then after that you put it back together and it is ready to use again it is lighter than the L98A2 and L86 LSW.
